A simple fall outfit with culottes

Friday, October 16, 2020

Just a quick update on the outfit with culottes I wore over the last weekend. The weather was beautiful, and it's very pretty everywhere I look. All around me is a photoshoot location. For me, fall is the beginning, not the end. I'm always excited over something at this time of year I can't even put my finger on. I want to dress up in a more interesting way, especially after I basically wore shorts with t-shirts all summer long.

I continue to shop my own closet - still loving this knit I bought a few years back, and last season's Uniqlo culottes are on point and fit my lifestyle. I like how easy it is to wear culottes, and how comfortable they are. I'm wearing glitter oxfords from Doc Martens, they are timeless.

Fall suiting

Monday, September 28, 2020

Looking at the pictures I feel Deja vu as I've worn this suit a few years back on the blog. I decided to shop my closet as much as possible this fall as I do have a lot of favorites that I barely get the chance to wear, just like this corduroy pant suit. And with so very little opportunity to go out this year, who needs all these clothes?! (Ha-ha...I wish I could just switch off my desire to shop so easily).

Fall always makes me excited about fashion, more than any season. I love the textures of corduroy, wool, flannel, etc., the deep autumnal colors, faux leather.

Don't get me started on the leather trend! I've always loved a good pair of leather shorts, and currently I'm looking at bermuda shorts and, maybe, joggers. I could wear those for years.

Back to this suit though. It's awesome. I can wear the jacket with jeans or leggings, and the pants work with cardigans and cropped sweaters. And it's warm and cozy. I wouldn't mind investing into another one just like it.

When in Wilmette

Monday, August 24, 2020

If you're visiting Chicago, explore the city first. After living here for 5 years, we've used most of its great locations for my blog photoshoots.

On top of my list are Honeycomb (also here), Chicago River Walk, The Art Institute of Chicago, Millennium Park, the City Beach, Buckingham Fountain and the Bean, beautiful Chicago bridges, Lincoln Park with its zoo, the farm, and conservatory.

Afterwards it's time to look for hidden gems in the nearby suburbs. Bahai Temple in Wilmette will take your breath away. It is only a 30 minutes car drive from Chicago (they have free parking), and it's totally worth it! The temple is surrounded by fountains and different gardens where you can have a romantic getaway, or a family picnic (I also saw a couple of people doing yoga), not to mention taking great snaps for your Instagram. It's quiet in the morning with very few visitors, later it gets busier. The temple is currently closed, however its usual hours are 6 am to 10 pm.

If you're visiting with kids, there's a playground park nearby (Gillson Park); or, if you like the beach, there's South Beach (make sure to go online and purchase their pass).

We spent a great day there.

Pink Panther

Sunday, August 9, 2020

I can't say enough of how much I love these lilac pants! I wish I got more colors a few years back. I wore them with white kitten heels here and with cropped top and mules here. They're mens beach chino pants. I appreciate deeper pockets too. I was unable to find something similar, especially at the right price ( I paid only $10 for these).

To get this Pink Panther tee from h&m, I had to be on a wait list for a couple of months, it's available now.
