Before all the snow is gone, I'm posting this. I can't believe it was less than 2 weeks ago, now it's real spring in Chicago.
Can you wear ripped jeans in winter? I certainly can but I wasn't sure before I tried. It was very cold, like really. My favorite long camel coat helped to shield the knees from the cold.

I bought them immediately after I saw them online. I think most of the sizes in Love to Death wash are gone now but I'm looking at other washes as the fit of these jeans is perfect (I ordered a size up).
