The AC is running non-stop, barely keeping up. I am glad I can hide from the heat in the cool comfort of my home.
When I first came to America, I really hated ACs - their constant noise, the cold air blowing, stirring up some pet hair and dust; it was just beyond my understanding. I was especially aggravated by it in the car, and at how Americans could not exist without their air conditioning. I was reluctant, even scared, to go grocery shopping because it was unbearably cold inside the stores during summer. Movie theaters could easily give me hypothermia, or at least I thought so! Gradually, however, I grew to appreciate air conditioning.
When I do need to go out in this heat, I throw on something really basic - a pair of denim cutoffs, a roomy top from a breathable fabric, a hat, and comfortable shoes.
These Rieker sandals are more comfort than fashion oriented. I bought them in Russia last year.
I usually don't wear a lot of make-up in the summer, but I can't get enough of Maybelline Vivids lipsticks, this one is in Hot Plum 900.

Уже две недели стоит непереносимая жара. Я немного рада, что работаю дома и мне не приходится сидеть в офисе или в машине. Дома кондиционер работает почти без перерыва.
Первые дни и даже месяцы после моего приезда в Америку я просто ненавидела кондиционеры! Везде, куда бы я не зашла, было жутко холодно. В магазинах, особенно в продовольственных, и в кинотеатрах, казалось, можно легко получить обморожение.
Сейчас я всегда беру с собой либо тёплую накидку или кофту. Представьте, из 34 или больше градусов тепла на улице вы неожиданно оказываетесь в помещении, где не более 17 градусов тепла! Сумасшествие! Хотя я уже постепенно привыкаю.
Для прогулок в жаркие летние дни я выбираю самое удобное и простое - джинсовые шорты, свободный топ из натуральных тканей, шляпу и удобные сандалии.
Обычно я не пользуюсь помадой летом, но мне очень нравится последняя коллекция оттенков Maybelline Vivids, на мне 900 Hot Plum.
