Beanie with a twist

Nowadays, if I want to wear a skirt with a pair of lacy tights, I just go for it. It hasn't happened often but it has some mood boosting powers for me. 

We had such a beautiful end of October, and early November with lots of sun and warmth. We went out for picnics a lot. That's exactly what we did on this day. Now, with the cooler temps and lockdown, I'm not sure if it's going to be possible to relax outdoors just like we did, and I'm back to wearing sweats for the most part. 

I have to write a few words about this beanie with a twist (got it last year from h&m). I love it, it's so feminine, and puts an elegant touch to any outfit. I had to adjust a bit to the look though, it was just a total departure from my usual cuffed beanies.
 

I like pairing the beanie with the cat-eye sunglasses to achieve this retro inspired look. Anyway, I am not afraid to experiment with different hats, it's fun and an affordable way to add something new to a winter wardrobe.

JW Anderson Wrap Skirt

Should have posted this a while ago before this skirt sold out at Uniqlo because I can't recommend it enough (regret not getting other colors!). Here's what's left. It's comfortable, and stylish, also works for playground. 

We did a bit of a runway show with the little one there. 

Telephone booth and a midi skirt

I've walked by this phone booth a hundred times, and was yearning (really) to take photos by it. Who knows, it could possibly be the last working phone booth around.

The weather has been pretty fall-like but we have some warmer days coming, and I'm definitely going to wear this midi skirt again. I bought it at Uniqlo last summer, judging by reviews, it was a hit. And I love it too. The skirt is especially perfect for late summer, early fall. It's very comfortable, dressy yet not fussy - perfect for my current life style. It'll also work with a lightweight sweater and boots. A versatile and classy piece for a few years to enjoy. I must mention the pockets! Pockets are everything.

I like graphic shirts, they are fun. Currently, I prefer something neat, and not overpowering like this Ok tee that I got at UO during the long weekend sale. 

I wore it with another favorite item in my closet - a denim midi skirt. I have a soft spot for midi skirts (I have a white midi that I wore here and here, and an olive green one here). Even though I'm pretty worried that they make me look stocky, especially with flats (and all I've been wearing lately are flats), I can't help myself.

For this photoshoot, I had a great location in mind, and when we got there it was closed for a private event so we really needed to improvise and look for other options. Luckily, it's pretty easy to find something in Lincoln Park.

Сейчас я большая поклонница футболок с короткими надписями. Думаю, Лера десятилетней давности бы не одобрила. 

Я вообще последнее время, наверно, очень часто огорчаю Леру тех лет. Ношу какие-то непонятные юбки-миди, кеды вместо каблуков и платформы, но а чаще я просто не вылезаю из джинсов и футболок.

Сейчас у меня в ротации эта футболка почти постоянно, плюс несколько пар джинсов и эта юбка. В общем, не блещу оригинальностью. Даже год назад мне постоянно хотелось разнообразия, а сейчас я и в ярких цветах себя неуютно чувствую.
