Designer Sample Sales
I have been shopping online sample sales for 4 years already. This is what I try to do each time I shop online:
- Mark the sale on your calendar (most sites will e-mail you a reminder). You don’t want to forget and then go online when many items are sold out. Happened to me so many times.
- Act fast, but do not get too agitated, otherwise you’ll end up with what you do not need or with something ill-fitting. Many websites will secure the item in your cart for about 15 minutes. To be able to act fast, take time to do your research beforehand if you are not familiar with the sizing or not sure how an item fits. I usually go through (bloggers’) reviews; there are so many of them and they are helpful. The size charts may not be completely helpful. Chatting with a CS rep can be an option, too.
- If I don't see any useful information online, I look at the model’s stats, the size she’s wearing and how it fits her (loose, tight, etc.), and try to project it onto myself and the way I want an item to fit. I buy in a Large sometimes and it turns out fine. It can always be altered too.
- It is harder with the swimsuits. I do not buy one-pieces online because of some bad luck in the past. It is much easier with the string bikini; I can always adjust it if it’s smallish or a little larger.
- Be ready for some disappointment. Do not get too upset if what you ordered does not fit or look right, it may happen. It happened to me. Returns are possible and they are easy. Remember that many sites give you a store credit only. That's fine with me – I know I will come back and buy again.
- Finally, do not worry if the item you looked for was sold out. Most online sample sale sites work with merchants that come back and they have waiting lists!

- Отмечаю дату распродажи на календаре. Сайты обычно отправляют напоминания по электронке. Я очень часто забывала об этом и появлялась, когда многие вещи уже были распроданы.
- Действую быстро, но не теряю голову, иначе останусь с ненужным товаром. Для этого - готовлюсь заранее. Читаю отзывы, хожу на сайт компании, узнаю всё, как сидят их вещи, насколько они долговечны и прочее. Ищу инфу, пока вещь в корзине (обычно 15 минут) ввожу точное название в поиск Google и читаю.
- Если ничего в инете полезного нет, то прикидываю как будет сидеть вещь – смотрю как сидит на модели (свободно или нет); какие у неё объёмы (обычно стандартные, но не мешает проверить), рост и прочее. Я покупала L и оставалась довольна. Большой размер всегда можно немного уменьшить.
- С купальниками чуть сложнее. Я перестала покупать сплошные из-за плохого опыта. Я не худышка – мне их надо мерять. Проще купить бикини на завязках – легче регулировать размер.
- Я всегда морально готова к разочарованию. Вещь может не подойти. Это не страшно. Всё можно вернуть и получить возврат денег на счёт в онлайн магазине.
- И, наконец, не расстраиваюсь, если не успела что-то купить. Многие сайты работают с постоянными продавцами, а также предлагают встать на очередь.
